ABOUT US
Founder of the ACT Care Group, Ann Marie Selfridge, developed and implemented this comprehensive educational and social AD/D program in 2013. After noticing almost immediate improvement in her patients, her dedication to the AD/D cause led her to open ACT. ACT's proven success at improving AD/D cognition, motor skills and communication, is confirmation that hope very much exists. Communication is one of the most effective tools people use to keep happy. ACT promotes socialization and interaction between people to help them stay engaged and active in every day life. |
"When people are given an opportunity to be a part of a group that is unifying and promotes active and healthy living, they feel a regained sense of importance- a hope that helps them to keep functioning on the highest levels of their ability."
“The participants of the group all suffer from some form of cognitive impairment, and are extremely frustrated that they have to rely so heavily on other people for assistance in so many aspects of their lives. The loss of independence is very difficult for people to handle physically, mentally and emotionally. The families want to help their loved ones, but it is hard to know what to do to make the situation better. When people with AD/D come to ACT, they accept our support, but appreciate our focus on independence. At ACT, we promote teamwork and always remind the participants that staff is always available to make things easier. ACT members appreciate our help and are thankful.”
